This K4DD Rapid Evidence Review examines trends with urbanisation in Pakistan, and the impacts of this on development.

It highlights some of the key negative effects, but focuses on the positive potential of urbanisation and how this can be realised.

The review draws on a mixture of academic and grey literature. There is a large body of literature on urbanisation trends in Pakistan and associated challenges, as well as on recommendations to address these. The literature does feature gender issues but little was found on persons with disabilities.
