Understanding Race and Ethnicity in Development and Diplomacy: Emerging Issues and Lessons Learnt

This K4DD Emerging Issues Report synthesises literature on race and ethnicity in development and diplomacy in order to increase understanding and identify good practice. It discusses language and terminology issues, the importance of considering race and ethnicity in development and diplomacy, lessons from inclusive programmes, and tools for integrating race and ethnicity into policies and programmes.

Searches for selected keywords and phrases using Google, Google Scholar, Microsoft Co-pilot, Ebsco, and Scopus were used to find relevant academic and grey literature in English in the public domain. In addition, we consulted experts in development studies, politics and international relations, conflict and peacebuilding, and social policy, and asked them to recommend relevant literature in English.
