This K4DD Rapid Evidence Review explores the Federal Government of Somalia’s (FGS) use of Local Defence Forces (LDF) in the fight against the Al Shabab (AS) insurgent group with a focus on risk mitigation.

This study looks in detail at three such cases. In doing so it considers the relationship between a number of security actors.
