An event was held on 2nd February 2017 to launch a new DFID-funded programme called Knowledge for Development (K4D). This programme aims to support DFID and its partners through learning and the use of evidence to improve the impact of development policy and programmes. Duncan Green, Strategic Adviser for Oxfam GB and LSE, challenged DFID as to whether it was a learning organisation, or had a linear approach to knowledge feeding into learning and thereby affecting behaviour change. He described a 2×2 matrix: how big is the learning is, versus how aligned it is with what DFID thinks.
