These Learning Packages have been designed to give you access to evidence and resources on a range of themes. The learning packages are self-guided, and were produced as part the K4D Programme, the predecessor programme to K4DD.

Water Security
The Water Security learning package aims to build capacity and knowledge around water security, the importance of water security for development, the links between water resources and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), and, the role of water in COVID-19 related recovery work.

Tax and Gender
This learning package is based on K4D’s Tax and Gender Learning Journey, which ran with the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) from 2021 to 2022. It had objectives to introduce and grow awareness of gender issues in taxation, create consensus around priorities for tax and gender policy and build the capacity of staff in the FCDO to understand, apply and communicate the department’s reshaped approach to tax and gender programming.

Inclusion in Crises
Inclusion is an approach (and an objective) founded on the human rights principles of inherent dignity, participation and respect for diversity. This counters structural discrimination and enables affected people and communities to more effectively anticipate, prevent, prepare, respond, recover and withstand the causes and impacts of crises.

International Nature
This learning package is drawn from the K4D International Nature Learning Journey. The learning journey was developed to support FCDO and other government departments’ understanding, capacity and influence related to nature, particularly in the run-up to COP26, hosted by the United Kingdom in 2022.

Health Systems Strengthening
Health systems strengthening (HSS) is at the heart of the UK’s approach to its longstanding advocacy for and investment in global health. FCDO’s position is that ‘a strong and inclusive health system is a foundation stone to achieving all health outcomes’. This K4D Learning Package on Health Systems Strengthening offers support to FCDO in their understanding, capacity, dialogue, and influence in strengthening health systems to improve the health and well-being amongst the poorest and marginalised in low- and middle-income countries.

This learning package focuses on the complex interaction between climate, conflict and stability. While there is no simple link between natural resource scarcity and conflict, they have been shown to interact with each other in many different ways and need to remain near the top of the international agenda.
